New truck
Wanted to post a few pics of my new truck. Two different VIN numbers say it is 1969, but the hood and grill say otherwise.

That's the right hood for a 69, look in the drivers door jamb, if there is a vent in there, then you know it is a 71 or a 72 cab with a swapped over VIN plate. 5 lug wheels would indicate the same thing. The trim and details look right for a 71 in the pictures you posted. (the 71/72 Would have a cable actuated throttle instead of a rod on the 70 and older...a 71 would have a raised mirror mounting pad...one year feature only)
Either way, that's a good lookin ride, and looks better than anything leakin oil at my place. |

noses, grills, hoods ect are very easy to swap. One thing for sure, the 69 hood has that pretty bowtie smack in the center of the front, not on the grill like the 71-72's had. nice truck crazyL

Good point, I never think about trim holes. My point was the hoods would be the same shape.

Thanks for the responses. I am sure that I will have plenty of questions in the future.
About the only thing that I know is that the cab is not the original. My Dad replaced the cab a few years back due to rust. The ID sticker in the glovebox is for a 1969. Here are my other two pics:

Well, your 67-72 (?) Chevy truck is pretty clean. You should be very pleased with it whatever it is. :p

I love this truck. I am calling it a 1971, because thats what it looks like to me.
