what would you do?
im going to paint my inner front fenders same color as truck should I attach the fasteners to the inner fenders and paint them truck color or leave them black with the chance of scratching the inner fenders as I attach them ...............................am I answering my own question comments please

The speednuts attach to the outer fender, not the inner

They will scratch the paint ,but if you spread them open with 2 small screw drivers, they should slide over the sheet metal better

You asked what would I do?
I would paint the inner fenders factory black. And like mentioned above... the nuts clip on the fender lip, not the inner fender. Gary

I would totally abandon what you are talking about doing.
1) No part of or near the nut is visible when assembled. 2) I would not spread the clips. These things are a real pain if they don't grip properly. They are made of spring steel. What I would do: Have some help and lots of masking tape as you install the inner fender to keep from scratching what does show. This includes the inner fender, the outer fender, the bolts, etc. |
