Frame compatability
My K10 72 frame might be bent.
What else will fit under the body? Do i need an exact year (or series) frame, or will a 73 and newer frame work just fine? And if I change frames, do i need also to change running gear? How late in model years can one go, before stuff starts not to fit? Maybe 80's? Even into the 90's? ideas? |

Re: Frame compatability
The Square body frames can work.
There is a lot of modification involved. They have a huge dip in the center of the frame. Here is one old thread I found. Link: https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...ght=frame+swap

Re: Frame compatability
Collision repair body shops should be able to straighten the frame. Have you looked into frame straightening through a shop?

Re: Frame compatability
Also the 69 -72 Suburban 4x4 frames will work. There are a few mods to make but much less than the square body frames. There may be other years as 67 and 68, but I have no experience with them..
