261 engine/distributor gasket?
I have the 1959 261 engine in my 53 pickup. The truck has a Vertex magnet that I just had tested/refurbished. When I removed it from the engine, there wasn't a cork gasket between the magneto/distributor hold down bracket and the block, although there is an indention on both the block and the bracket for what looks like one.
Has anyone found this elusive gasket?

Re: 261 engine distributor gasket?
I took out my calipers today and measured both the outer and inner dimensions of the hole for the distributor/magneto that are in the block to support some kind of gasket.
The outside dimension is 1 1/4 inches and the inside dimension is 1 1/16 inches, which is the diameter I measure on an old distributor shaft. Now to find a cork gasket of this size......
