C20 Locking Gas Cap
Trying to find a locking gas cap for my 71 C20 which has the larger dia neck...
So far I have been through 3 caps they are too small and can pop off or really ugly plastic caps ..sent them all back..I really want a nice clean chrome cap.. Scott |

Re: C20 Locking Gas Cap
Thought I could help but it doesn't look good....
Went through my receipts. In 2004 I bought one from NAPA, p/n 703-1113 which seems to be changed or discontinued. Rubber seal in it failed in 2018 and I found one at Oreilly's, p/n STA 10491 which unfortunately now shows a black plastic cap. So this post is pretty much worthless -- unless you can use the info to track down what you want. Oh BTW the neck on my K20 is 2 1/4" dia. EDIT: Found one (STA 10491) on EBay but it's out of stock.... Got a picture though if that's the type you're looking for. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Locking-Fue...-/184489405258

Re: C20 Locking Gas Cap
Well, the more ya dig, the more ya find. Just discovered this: Stant Corporation was purchased by H.I.G. Capital, which (I guess) also owns MotoRad. Info was a bit hazy.
That may explain the change from chrome locking caps to black plastic. Anyone wanting the chrome ones may want to stock up while they can.

Re: C20 Locking Gas Cap
I'm with tdangle. Every locking cap on my truck leaked sooner rather than later. Non-locking chrome cap. It's been on there for a dog's age, now.

Re: C20 Locking Gas Cap
Yep, I'm just careful where I park as it is way too easy to steal gas out of these tanks.

Re: C20 Locking Gas Cap
I have cameras on the front of my house, so no worries when I'm at home.

Re: C20 Locking Gas Cap
I have cameras also, but do park in the garage. I only worry when I park it a shopping centers, etc. Home and work no worries
