If my dad was still alive and doing upholstery, I guarantee those inserts would be aligned. He was a picky son of a gun, but his interiors won at Concours events.

Here are mine. This is the stock from-the-factory cover. About to be replaced with an SMS cover. The passenger side is lined up pretty well but the driver's side is terrible.
