Help, Front end change
Good Morning
ive got a 1966 c10 short bed, frame was twisted 2 inches no worries, found another shortbed frame main question is im going air bags, ive got the A arms from my 1972 c10 was going to cup ive got access to either a 71 or 72 frame with disc brakes to take the front suspension off , or just about any year squarebody, like to stay with 6 lug, just looks better to me but no worries switching to 5, have a 5 lug rearend off an obs truck to change the rear, which front suspension will be the easier swap Thanks for the Help

K.I.S.S. --KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!
Parts are readily available for all 3. Why change crossmember when the arms and spindles are 72-87 already. If planning bags are you going rack and pinion? Are you going to section crossmember? Are you Z ing front? In the long run would a aftermarket setup be better?

Re: Help, Front end change
no rack and pinion, no zing the front,
just a question if the 1971 or 1972, or the squarebody would bolt up, i didnt know the crossmember was the same so that would work i am going with the 72 lower a arms and im guessing most of the 1966 suspension to the others is the same but Thanks, and nice truck

Re: Help, Front end change
Control arms both upper and lower are the same from 63 to 72. 73-87 arms have the rubber bushings. To stay 6 lug, use an aftermarket 6 lug rotor that requires a 1.25" spindle
