1985 k20 engine wiring harness
I just got my 85 and at one point before we owned it there must have been fire under the hood. The wiring has been spliced together and some of the connectors are slightly melted. Truck runs and everything under the hood works but I was wondering if there is just an under the hood or firewall forward replacement harness available? I just started looking and haven't found anything yet. Thanks

Re: 1985 k20 engine wiring harness
When I was building my K20 and was looking for one too and could not find one. I could find them for 82 or 83’s but not anything newer. I think it may have something to do with the many different options available in the later 80’s. And I do know the pin outs on the plugs and wire colors were changing from year to year.
I ended up building my own with an handful of Packard terminals, quality gxl wire and some fusible link wire and it really was very difficult. It also allowed me to pick the routing I wanted for a clean install.

Re: 1985 k20 engine wiring harness
I really don't want to rewire the truck just want to clean up under the hood and electrical isn't my best subject. Between me and my dad we have had the truck about 5 years and haven't had a problem caused by wiring. I guess maybe if I keep it 5 more years someone will come out with a harness.
