Re: non carpet options?
I havent tried that but seems like a better option than carpet for me. I didnt know that was available so hopefully someone will chime in.

Re: non carpet options?
Are they the same manufacturer as the pick-up rubber mats?
The pickup mats have mixed reviews with most of the complaints about short life span. These threads may help you. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=599344 https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=627290

Re: non carpet options?
personally, once I fix the rust in my truck, I plan to have the metal sections of the floors covered in blue raptor liner....tinted to match the color, and then do a custom "Mexican Blanket" carpet in the rear.

Re: non carpet options?
All of my driver trucks and burbs have had the rubber mats. I love them, easy upkeep. But I had a couple that I used carpeted floor mats over the top, I think its a good compromise. Know you're going to get things mucky, take out the carpeted mats.
I really like the fact someone built a full set for burbs (I have that factory in my 72 Burb), too bad the fitment is poor on the aftermarkets. Ive had good luck with my aftermarket truck mats. I dont remember the brand but I believe I got them from vendor board members Frank PICKMUP or Wes Classicheartbeat, probably both. Course getting the truck mats dont help with whats going on past the front bench on a burb, maybe a start though?
