Just bought a 82 Silveraldo

Hello I have a few questions maybe some of you can help. I bought a 1982 Silveraldo LWB a few weeks ago it ran good I decided to do a couple things to help it out a bit new plugs, wires etc now it just doesnt seem to run as good, whats the proper plug gap?, Maybe its the wires? It sounds like a miss ive checked the firing order several times if its off it wont start at all any ideas or suggestions?? any help is appreciated.

Do you have a wire laying accross a manifold or header tube? Maybe its not plugged up all the way?

I believe 82 would have had HEI so plug gap will be around .045".

And your sure you didn't get two wires mixed up somehow? There are two that are very easy to get mixed up but I don't remember which two.

Did you twist the dizzy any when installing the wires? Perhaps you threw the timing off or something or didn't get the cap installed right (did you replace the cap?).

Yep cap was replaced, i'll check the wires again and the gap on the plugs again Thanks for the help

oh yeah definately check the wires on the front of driver's side, i had them backwards on accident because the A/C junk is in the way on my 80. It will start if you got just 1 set switched; i know b/c i thought i had them right and it sounded good idling, then i gave it the gas and and it didn't sound pretty
