shop4seats.com/ Who has em? or go with a bench?

Im on the fence currently on whether to stay with a bench or go with buckets. I like the look of the TMI bench seats, but they are pricey. I have came across the shop4seats.com site a few times from different forum suggestions.. Curious who here is running these seats and how you like them.

I will let you know in July as that's when they're expected to be finished/shipped. I ordered the 7-spring option on both.
The center compartment w/ drink holders will be nice!

The stock 86 Chevy bench seat frames are crap imho and can't even get the backrest foam. The shop4seats frames are powder-coated too!

Re: shop4seats.com/ Who has em? or go with a bench?

I've got one and love it. Went with black leather. Very firm was easy to swap out by myself. The only thing I don't like is the center console cup holders are very shallow, dumped a coffee once doing a Dunkin run for my wife and I was not holding the cup when backing up in the parking lot. I have pics on here somewhere. Trying to find the paperwork, went with the Cobra Low (back), 40-20-40, black on black, no headrest.

Re: shop4seats.com/ Who has em? or go with a bench?

I have the 40/20/40 in my truck. I am not happy with them. The leather started to come apart at the seems at just over a year. As previously stated the “cup holders” are useless. They are also too bulky in my opinion. I wouldn’t recommend them. When the time comes I’ll find stock buckets or go with TMI.

Re: shop4seats.com/ Who has em? or go with a bench?

Ok here are some pics when I installed mine in 2018. I ordered the adapter kit as well so it utilized the existing bolt holes in the cab floor. The install instructions were not the best but it was pretty straightforward to install. I cannot say I have had any problem with the materials. We do use the truck for Sunday beach runs seating 3 with console up, otherwise it’s console down for the “cool factor”.

Oh and sorry for the pic orientations, see they are wacky during the preview but can’t figure out how to fix.

Those seats do look good.. Im not a fan of that huge plastic console on top.. but I could live with it.

Re: shop4seats.com/ Who has em? or go with a bench?

I made my own custom bench seat using parts from an early 90's f150 bench seat and some help from a good upholstery shop.

The second photo is a unmodified Ford seat installed in a members truck (Which I can't remember who the member was and I cannot find the original thread I found the photo in. Grrrr! If anyone knows I would appreciate a note back with their name. ) with custom upholstery that was the inspiration for mine. I have matching headrests but I need to source some pieces from Ford to finish their installation.

Here is a link to how I modified a factory seat back for mine. The seat base wasn't modified other than custom foam.

I really like the look of those.. I'm tempted to go that route now.

BTW, if you are using google chrome, right click on the picture, then hit "Search image with Google" you come up with all the places google can find the picture. It looks like it was originally posted here:

Re: shop4seats.com/ Who has em? or go with a bench?

Where I am the cost of having a bench recovered is the same or more than aftermarket seats. I already have the material as well. So, that takes cost out of the equation for me to decide what I want to do.

Re: shop4seats.com/ Who has em? or go with a bench?

I think I am leaning towards the bench seat after looking around. I have zero faith in my local upholstery shop to put out a decent looking job so that leaves me looking online. Snowdens are months out. TMI seems to be another good choice.. Wish there were more options though.

Here's the pics after 3 months wait on seats.
These are true bolt-in attached to stock seat holes. I could do it myself in about 30min. but need get new carpet down.

Re: shop4seats.com/ Who has em? or go with a bench?

Truck Seats Inc did my Buddy Buckets 10 years ago. I sourced the correct shades of green, they told me how many yards to buy, I sent them the material and they sent back to me seat covers perfectly made.
