Label??

Found this on the pass side of the frame on my97 GMC SLE extended.

It's plastic & is clipped onto the frame.

know what it means

I am going to take a wild guess,I think it is a ID tag for when they picked the frames for assembly they would know which one it is IE: Short Bed,long bed,extended cab,etc

And being the tag is upside down is because the frames were put on a carrier upside down,so all the suspension pieces were put on this way,and then they flipped them over and then put in the driveline I worked a Oshawa Car Assembly for 30 years and we had a truck plant there,and saw some of these coming down the line Check your VIN and if it starts with a #2, it was built there.

Yes, mine was built there. Here's part of the VIN 2GTEC
