screen for rear slider window.anyone done it ?
I was thinking of a way to make a screen for the rear slider on my 80,s. Anyone make one. I thought the windows lift out but they don,t as I was going to make one that would lift into the slots on the window channel ,but it doesn,t do that.

A little buggy up there, is it?
Interesting notion... I'll have to keep an eye on this one to see what transpires. I would think you'd have to use some sort of glue-on, external design. It would also have to be minimal in stature as to not appear as if you glued a wooden portrait frame onto your window.

Re: screen for rear slider window.anyone done it ?
I was hoping it would fit like a sliding window in your house, push up in the track and then put it in the bottom track but no . The truck doesn,t do that. I was thinking yesterday maybe some sorta Velcro. No bugs but anything in the box comes in the back window and it is hot here.

maybe a thin frame that you add thin strip magnetic tape to that just sticks on the oem window frame.

Re: screen for rear slider window.anyone done it ?
I would use this https://www.amazon.ca/Fastener-Adhes...1zcF9hdGY&th=1 put the wiry side on the glass/alum frame side that does not move make sure to clean and dry in stall on a warm day. Get your screen of your choice sew the meshy side to the screen make two seams stretch tight press in to place. I all was put the wiry side on 1-2 day let it sit first before putting screen side on make sure you put the screen on a cooler day in the shade help is a blessing make sure you get it right some time it will pull wiry off the alum frame/Glass. with a little heat on hot day, it can be pulled off with a little work clean easy without a lot of work and you would never know it was on thereafter. I hope this help you.

I don't remember how it was, this was in the 80s, but Dads dodge truck with the rear slider had a sliding screen on it..you could also have it open or closed..I think it was fastened to the slider window

Re: screen for rear slider window.anyone done it ?
I was thinking of the velcro type method. something I could roll up and stick in the glove box when not in use and just have 4 little tabs on the sliders. I think that will work.

Well looks like I was over thinking this project. I was at the hardware store looking at screen and beside the the screen is all the plastic do-dads to make your own custom screens. Make a screen paint it ,and a little Velcro and done.
