Tailgate Net
I haven't had my net on for about 2 years now but thought since gas was so high what the heck. My bodyman was against me drilling holes in the new bed sides

Is it really helping your mileage? I had one on my 98 Z71 and noticed no difference.

I think thats a in your head sorta thing. A guy did tell me the other day that has a S10 that driving with the tailgate down on it gives him about 2mpg. Truck seems faster with the net........ then thats probably just in my head too....

You know I watched a show a few years ago on this very subject. They put all size and make trucks in a wind tunnel and it didnt make any difference whether the tailgate was up or down or completely off the air still went in the bed and just circled. However they did find that if you have a tonneu cover preferrably a hard cover that it did solve the problem. Now who knows if it is in your head or not but I know I have an 02 2500HD and I get 15 mpg which seems to be better than most and it has a hard fiberglass cover.
I also had an s10 and with the gate down I could swear I got better milage but again I probally adjusted my driving style LOL
