1350 Drive Shaft
Looking for a 1350 CV style front DS. What have you ordered? Driveshaftsuperstore seems to be a scam site.

Ford used one in the Stupiduty's, 2002-ish, need a flange, not hard to get. I need one too actually...

Re: 1350 Drive Shaft
No, but I have purchased parts from them to make what I have needed. If you are looking for a complete you can try this company, they can make a complete for you. I got a complete shaft that I could lube for my Subaru from them

Re: 1350 Drive Shaft
Numerous places you can go for a custom build if you want to pay additional money for shipping. Any D/L shop local to you can do the build, doesn't have to be somebody famous that has a large marketing budget

On this particular subject I absolutely do not want a drive line failure absolutely. Especially on the front D/S. it is just below the shift linkage for the T-case and if that is taken out by a busted (budget) shaft you are REALLY "F'd" when off road. I was off road and ran into a "square" that had broken his NP205. I dove under it to see the damage because I couldn't believe it broke. Sure as Ssss the box was busted in half. I asked what happened and he said the driveshaft failed, dropped down, and pole vaulted the truck. The front D/S really needs to be durable, I mean really stout. Your "fuse" should probably be out at the hub, its hard to say where you want something to break (NOT in the back country! if you have a choice!)

Re: 1350 Drive Shaft
I know Jesse personally and I don't know what's going on with him lately. The fire did have an impact on him, but he has a new building and shop. I'll be up there in a couple of weeks and see if I can find anything out. His dad has a driveline shop also on the other side of town that he is still trying to get open from the fire. Vern is in his 80s though so he moves a little slower and is trying to do everything himself inside the building

When he stopped responding, I called from my friends phone and he messaged back. A clear sign I was being ignored and I started the chargeback. His prices are double what others charge, I was willing to pay it for what was supposed to be a unique product. If he does not supply the parts he sells and takes money for. He is a thief. Really, I am disappointed to not use his product in my build. Seeing him in all the magazines I read in the past. I had his company up there with Deaver Spring and King Shocks, both used on my truck. Obviously, I put him on to high of a pedestal.

Re: 1350 Drive Shaft
I haven't talked to him in over 10 years. He was gonna move to my area, so we were BS'n bout that. I used to go to Pirate4x4 ALL the time, now it pretty much sucks. But he used to be over there, and seemed like a stand up guy with more than a stand up product. Guess things change.....Well, Tom Woods? He still doing driveshafts??

Re: 1350 Drive Shaft
It's nice to have info on poor service to save other people wasting time and money. The last time I had a driveshaft made up locally it was done in a few days.

Re: 1350 Drive Shaft
I ordered front and rear driveshaft from Tom Woods and had no issues. I got a regular 1350 rear and a 1330 cv front. My dad paid more locally to get a 2wd shaft shortened then I paid for 1 of mine new shipped.
I was going to order 1 ton shafts from high angle, but he did not think the front would clear my 4l80e trans, so i decided to keep it simple. |

Re: 1350 Drive Shaft
OK, thanks. NOT High Angle DL.....I did speak with a local DS builder/rebuilder and they can make anything I say. So we'll see what kind of price they come up with. I had to order a flat 32 spline flange for my NP205 cuz I forgot I upgraded to the bigger front output. Doh!

BTW, a clearanced 1350 cv clears the 6L90 transmission in my truck fine.

Re: 1350 Drive Shaft
I wonder if Dennys Driveshafts is still giving good service. They were always first class.

Re: 1350 Drive Shaft
There are a number of transfer cases that used a flat 32 spline yoke. The 241 t-case comes to mind. Some even had different spacing on them for clearance. Those were the factory square flange and then there are a few aftermarket round ones

Re: 1350 Drive Shaft
So here is a little update to the D/S search. I mentioned that I was talking to a local D/S re/builder. I got all my measurements and operating angles over to them but they said they couldn't make the double cardan front shaft because my front operating angle was "extreme" it's 17 degrees. They stated I should look at other D/S builders. Ok, so I called Tom Woods and spoke with them about building an "extreme" angle double cardan 1350 front shaft. They said "17 degrees is not extreme and just order a normal from CV shaft" So hhmm...what is that all about. I'm not a driveshaft builder so I'm relying on experienced people to help me out with the right parts. Any input from the D/S veterans here?

Re: 1350 Drive Shaft
They will most likely use a CV like this https://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/p17..._cv_head_.html
Says 32 degrees but in reality maxes out around 30. I clearanced mine to get about 35 degrees as I max out at 32 degrees at full droop. Some just freak out about higher ujoint operating angles. In real world use operating angles of 10 degrees can live a long trouble free life. With your 17 degree angle each of the ujoints in the cv are only seeing 8.5 degrees.
