Thanks, couldn't get the photos to load. Interesting to see an air pump used on a 307 3/4 ton.

The image files on BaT were webp format which I don’t believe are compatible with the forum software. I converted the ones I posted to the jpeg format.

My experience with ex-snow plows is that the front ends are usually beat to death if they saw any regular service.

Agreed. A few unusuals on this truck. First off it's a Tarrytown truck...not a ton of those. But a plant making trucks for east coast markets. Which more to your point about the AIR pump...3/4T were exempt from most emissions stuff. A 1/2T would have had TCS.

Regardless...I'm a sucker for blue 70 K trucks.

My grandfather ordered almost an identical 1970 K20 as the one above with a couple of option differences:

His had the 350, lockout hubs, 10-16.5 wheel option, and tach cluster. It was still around until about 2015, then I lost track of it.

Unhappy Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

I still have the Protecto-plate and the Q-Jet from it. It was a Canadian built truck. Unfortunately, the last I saw of it, the frame had serious rot in the back, and all of the body was junk except for the hood and upper cowl piece, but it was still being driven! It would have needed everything metal.

Believe me, that is generally true, however, there is always that .1% of any vehicle that was ever made, that for one reason or another, we can only speculate at this time, that was stored extremely early in its life. The running boards and camper hooks are give aways this Custom Camper pickup was bought for one purpose, for recreational use. The wheels were probably repainted, but the rest of the vehicle looks legit to me, a time capsule, a rare chance today to see the way Chevy built them in 1968.

The shifter knob, if original to the truck, has virtually zero wear. Many small often incorrect detail items on this truck look to be spot on. I have little doubt that it is a true sub 5k mile truck.

Re: 67-72 Time Capsules

I think that blue '68 is probably very low mileage but I'm not seeing any firewall markings though. Also, the rubber hose (thermostat bypass?) coming off the water pump is painted orange which is curious. I know we've had some discussion about the alternator bracket being orange on some '68's but this one orange. I've seen several other '68 survivors (Including my truck) with orange backets pop up over the years here. Nice truck, nonetheless. It's not often one sees that dark blue color come up.

Check out Jocko's post from 2016 (post #5 on the first page of this thread). It's the same truck.

Not all assembly plants scribbled on the firewall, or used the same coding there. St. Louis assembly definitely liked to write a lot on the firewall. Tarrytown assembly for example, not as much.

That yellow and white truck looks really nice. Anyone know why there's the gap between the cab and the camper?
