Most people that put effort into an engine package usually want to keep it nice & clean visually. Water spotting on heated stuff takes away from that visual so if you're fine w/it go for it.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

I do keep all my stuff nice and clean. Heck my race car was at PRI this past year and that gets used. This will be kept clean used heavily though. This year alone it will be driven too and up pikes peak, driven to Bonneville for Speed Week, It was made to be driven and used we intend to drag and drive, auto cross, and generally have fun with. Its a 700 hp blown 383 with 4 speed. I've done the car show world before and its not for me. I would rather have a nice rig that gets used with no fears.

The GM stuff shown within this thread is nostalgic cool but that's about it.

Sore subject
I hate mine, wife said it would look like junk. And it really does now.
Over done and a dated look

But again that's my opinion.
After I took the 3 inch cowl hood off my Burban I was surprised as to how much quieter the truck was without it. Since learning that I have passed on a free one for my Blazer.

They are pretty much the ONLY hood you see on the trucks...even with vents added to them...it’s still a stamped steel cowl hood...ordered from a catalog...
Same goes for 5-spoke wheels.... yep...those are 5-spoke...just like the truck beside it...and the one beside it...

Also, just my opinion.

Torqs and cowl hoods deserve new balance status.

Re: Hood vents

And.... back in the day, aluminum slots or some sort of Weld Wheels (or Centerlines) were on everything.

People like what they like & I'm ok w/that.

That is a very nice engine bay.
Adding a nice looking hood vent other than the trays may require some body work and paint to your hood, but if you are looking to relieve under hood pressure, I think that with these trucks it's the hood, the fenders or a best place would be adding directional vents to the inner fenders combined with a short under the front bumper air spoiler to help move the air.

Also inner fenders are easy to replace if needed.

Funny you should say that, as my truck came with Centerline’s when I bought it.
Truth be told, I’m a sucker for the Centerline Convo Pros...and if I could have found a brand new set, with the bolt pattern, and size I wanted...I would have them on my truck. I have loved them since they came out.

Yes sir.... Convo Pros were a popular wheel choice.

Re: Hood vents

Here's the vented hood setup that I drove daily for 16 years and never garaged. I got those from an early 80's Chysler turbo "k" car. Saw them at a junkyard and thought.....ya, those are just right!
