A/C and Heater control questions

I was re-installing my dash today to get my frame-off to the next level of completion when I found that my top lever (inside/outside/ac/defrost) was broken.. (Kind of explains why my defrost never worked..)

Anyway, I can't figure out how to get this guy apart. The knobs don't seem to want to pop off. I've got the fan switch out, and the chrome bezel off, but can't seem to get much further. I think I've spent about 2 hours on this and can't seem to get anywhere. I couldn't find anythink the FAQ, so I'm wondering if I'm just an oddball??

Does anyone have any helpful hints? Any and all suggestions are appreciated!!!

Since no one has replied, the knobs do come off. Get a pair of pliers and pull on them. I don't beleive the a/c control levers have a removable pin where they pivot. You will have to grind off the top or bottom to get that pin out. Look for new levers and/or repair kit from our vendors. It seems I've seen them somewhere. Good Luck.

Sorry I didn't see this post. Like stated above, the knobs will come off, but you have to pull like the dickens. I suggest spending the money and gettingthe never pops our vendors sell. They work great!

Thanks. I've seen the kits, but couldn't figure out how to get the damn things out. I was scared to mess with the knobs too much b/c the face glass is clean and scratch free. I don't want to mess it up and cost me another $30 to replace it also!!
