rear axle shock tabs/brackets 4x4 - where to buy?

I have a 70 K5 blazer that has a mystery axle in the rear. It is a 12 bolt, 6 lug axle with spring perches but no shock mounting brackets.

Someone may have added perches to a 2wd bracket at some point? Not sure. Gear ratio's match front to back so it's getting used.

The front axle had a legible BOM number, it's a 1980 K20 dana 44 with a 6 lug pattern. Maybe the rear is also out of this truck, though I would think the shock brackets would be on this.

Are they any factory style brackets I can buy to weld onto the axle tube?

Tried searching but I just come up with the 2wd brackets that attach to the U bolts.

if your front axle is out of an 80 K20, it would be a GM 10 bolt with 8 lugs unless someone swapped the 6 lug stuff over to it. i believe the last year for dana 44s was 76 then they switched over to the corporate 10 bolt.

Check the mounting bolt sleeve of your shock should be 1-1/2" like these brackets

I used the tabs from ruff stuff on my K20 and have been more than pleased with them.

That first link looks like something that would work, I'll have to do some measuring

FYI the second link are the mounts I used to convert my avatar to an 86 14 bolt cab n chassis rear differential. The center pumpkin on the 14 bolt is larger and wider than the HO72 and also has plug weld boss axle housings, so to line the shock up on the drivers side it needed a slight angle to overcome about a 3/4" offset.

Worked perfectly!

I actually bought the second link after looking at them again. We will see how it goes.

I looked up the BOM and it came back as an 1980 dana44 k20. I don’t think all of the 3/4 ton was 8 lug at that point but who knows. That’s what it came back with and it’s 6 lug. It’s definitely a Dana 44 axle.
