Thinking about a lotto ticket
I just came off the Freeway when I heard this horrible noise. I unfortunately am fairly deaf, I wear hearing aids that help. I must not of been hearing this for a while. Inner race is welded to Spindle. The Pile is all the rest of the inner bearing and seal. Rotor and Spindle are Junk. When I jacked it up to look at it I could move the whole wheel at least 3” back and forth. Yep think I’ll buy a lotto ticket
New parts will be here next week

Re: Thinking about a lotto ticket
is that CPP i see cast into the spindle ? personally i would never use their products, we have a cherry 72 cutlass in the shop right now with a "right stuff" brand 4 wheel disc kit that looks worse than yours, just not a fan of aftermarket kits. i've seen a CPP steering box that nearly killed a customer of ours (we didn't install it) but when i ordered a red head box for it i asked if they would take the CPP box as a core, i was told absolutely not to throw that Chinese made piece of $hit in the trash can.

Re: Thinking about a lotto ticket
Oh man, I tell you what. Yeah, that didn't happen in a week or two. The caliper would keep the rotor and wheel from exiting the vehicle. Still is scary to have one do that.
I had a heart racing moment one time with my old truck. Going to work before day light, 25 miles to work. Pitch dark and 60 or so mph when all of a sudden I heard a loud pop and then a huge shower of sparks filled my windshield and was all I could see as a car passed going the other way right through the sparks. I lifted off the gas and coasted to the shoulder. The upper ball joint had snapped and the wheel folded inward and the steel wheel was grinding on the upper control arm. Quite an eye opener for sure.
