Image-Correct inside mirror 69 CST20?
Would’ve thought by ‘69 Inside rearview mirror would be standard on Chevy trucks? I guess not, All of the interior paint on my 69 is original and the area above the windshield has never been drilled, never been a mirror there. Could one of you post a picture of the correct mirror? Not sure it would make a difference, My truck is a CST20, Are the mirrors different between a base model and top of the line interior?

Re: Image-Correct inside mirror 69 CST20?
The inside rear view mirror was an option on early 1969 trucks. It was option code D36.
See this SPID from a 1968 for example: and from an early 1969: What the early bracket looked like: Mid year 1969 used the bracket with the grained vinyl cover and stainless steel backed day/night mirror that was also used in 1970 and 1971.

Re: Image-Correct inside mirror 69 CST20?
1970CST - thank you for the information! The early 69 mirror mount that you posted looks very similar to the one on my 65 where it screws to the windshield header but different where the mirror mounts to the post. Makes me wonder if that is a one or two year only mirror mount? That was certainly Help in my search…..

I guess this would apply to my 68 GMC Super Custom as well. It has the mirror on the glass and no stamped or raised area in the roof. I thought everything pre-72 had the roof mount.

the only year with the raised area for the mirror was 71.

Re: Image-Correct inside mirror 69 CST20?
I wonder if camper trucks were the ones that had no in-cab rear view mirror. This is interesting. If I were adding a mirror and the cab roof were not drilled for it, I would go for the 72 type glue-on-windshield type.

When I bought a '67 K/10 Suburban, the PO had either put in a '72 Windshield or glued on a mirror. It bounced enough to be useless at speed. Lucky for me, I had cannibalized a mirror mount just like Pic 3, in Post #2, when I totalled my Dad's '64 Olds Wagon, years before. It was just like the one in my '68 C/10 Stepside, but chromed. [While the C/10's was black.] I held it up to the center of the windshield header and marked the holes with a sharpy. Drilled 3 holes, and screwed the mirror mount in place. Worked great, and the image didn't blur at speed.

The 1969 bezels/boots were unique to 1969. Below is a link to an old for sale thread that shows the correct style for at least most of 1969. Refer to picture in post 4 in that thread.

I find mine's too flexable. It doesn't wobble at high speed, but everytime I put my mylar/bubble reflector shade in the windshield -- which is whenever it's parked in AZ -- the focus gets knocked around. There might be a way to tighten it up under the rubber cover -- I haven't messed with it.

Re: Image-Correct inside mirror 69 CST20?
OBTW, GM used the same mounting on all Rear View Mirrors from the early '60s thru MY 1971.
My '71 GMC Jimmy has a day/night mirror I cannibalized from a '64 Pontiac. The glue-on ones are fixed to a pivot ball.

Re: Image-Correct inside mirror 69 CST20?
I have this style and never knew that it was adjustable, every time I go to use my sun visor it hits the mirror. Now I can get out there and adjust it, I was about to replace the hole arm.
