Poll. How many have a dishwasher in the shop?

Was at a friend's shop a while back and he had an old dishwasher he used for cleaning parts. He claimed to have used it for years. I hadn't heard of this before. Any of you fine folks have one in your shop or garage for cleaning stuff?

I voted no. I don't have a shop, I have a small part of a two-car garage with just enough room to move around the equipment, most of the time.

Another no vote, since I don't have a shop either. Just a small single carport. It is attached, though, so only open on two sides.

I too do not have a dishwasher in my garage as I have no shop building since the move to town.. I never even seen a dishwasher in a shop. I would think one would plug up when draining the goo---ie grease from the parts . but maybe not too.

I just use the one in the house.

But seriously, folks, I used to use the oven to bake painted parts and heat bearings prior to install, etc. My wife could smell it coming up the driveway.

I eventually got an old electric stove and put that in the garage for my own use. Found it beside the road: it was so gross that bacon grease was running out of it as I loaded it into the back of the truck. A little scrubbing and it was good as new!

I’ve used the oven for baking parts I also put parts in the deep freezer mostly bearings and u joints

I have a half bath at the back of garage with an industrial size sink. So I guess that qualifies me as being the “dishwasher” for parts cleaning. The parts go from being in a bucket of EvapoRust to the sink for rinsing. And then I also soak and clean other parts.

The shop I'm building will have a laundry sink and now a dishwasher. I was about to throw one away.

I have a parts washer with an industrial degreasing soap I get from Sam's Club.....no dishwasher though.
