Help needed 1960 to 1963 L6 A/C Pulley
I’m working in installing a factory A/C Cool Pack system in a 62 Chevy with a L6 261 engine. I have the crank pulley part number 3772886. This pulley doesn’t fit on the crank harmonic balancer. The holes on the pulley are spread apart in a wider pattern compared to the harmonic balancer. Is there another pulley that does fit this harmonic balancer correctly?

Re: Help needed 1960 to 1963 L6 A/C Pulley
GMC JR VAN Thank you very much for taking the time to provide me with that information. I spoke to Ron in Damper Dudes and found out that the original two pulley harmonic balancer for this motors (235 & 261) is very rare and hard to find. The pulleys are actually riveted on the balancer so I ended buying a harmonic balancer with two pulleys made to work on this motors.

Re: Help needed 1960 to 1963 L6 A/C Pulley
Another option is a single crank pulley from short waterpump small block, most of the times it bolts on and sits just right, sometimes a spacer between pulley and damper hub is needed.
Edit, i only saw its for gen2 inline after i submitted. Add on pulley works on gen3 inlines. Cant say if it will work on earlier type. |
