3 Port Regulator position Question

I am using a 3 port regulator. 1 in, 1 out, 1 return. I had it running a few months back on a port injected SBC. I ended up blowing something out on the back part of an injector fuel rail and burned things up pretty good. Exact fail point unknown. Getting to a point where I am now thinking about the regulator some. The regulator was about 24 to 30 inches from the rails. Duel fed and had a crossover for overkill. I am thinking of moving the regulator to a different location that will make the run about 60 inches to the rails. I see a lot of setup with the regulator very close or even on the end of the rail. Is there an issue running a regulator further away from the rails? Are there harmonic issues to be concerned with?

Re: 3 Port Regulator position Question

I run my regulator next to the tank at the back of the truck. I have never had a problem. The return line is about 12" long and there is a single line running to the engine in front.

It probably depends more on your engine. If it is a killer engine that is S/C or turbo, it might be better to keep it closer to the rails. If not, then put it wherever.

Re: 3 Port Regulator position Question

Thanks for input. As expected but I've been surprised before.
