Re: 1970 K20 Z62 Full Restoration

Taking a drive up to Nashville from your place would be a awesome ride. You guys have some great scenery to drive thru. I hope someday I can make it back down there and take more time.

'67 Chevelle. Eric can chime on it, but it was his folks' car. It is super clean and super sharp and super original. Marina blue on blue.

Chevelle, Malibu, 283, 3 speed on column. It was my mom’s birthday present in ‘67. Brought me home when I was born, my brother and I drove it in high school, and my daily driver now.

Re: 1970 K20 Z62 Full Restoration

Ok...sorry guests arrived early. Over now, let's keep going.

So with all the major paint/polish done, we turned to getting things ready to marry up. Couple of minor checklist items and then we got the roller loaded up to head to Eric's and Eric got the bed off the rotisserie and the cab back on.

Rotisserie made it high enough that we didn't even have to remove the shifter.

Re: 1970 K20 Z62 Full Restoration

And now the cab is finally married up. Pretty exciting day for us really. Now we can focus up on final assembly. A few things left to hunt yet...but glass arrived today, so that fight is forthcoming. May not be super soon though because Precision seems like they're gonna be a little slow on delivery. Ordered rubber the same time I ordered the date coded glass (and you see which one arrived first).

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope it's a good one. Already pretty darn good here.

Question Re: 1970 K20 Z62 Full Restoration

How exciting. Looks superb as usual.

I didn't see it, but do you have the often missing spring clip to keep the power steering hoses together?

Thanks! Don't have an original one, but it's on the ever evolving punch list. As close as we are, there's still a fair few things I don't have on premises yet. I'm on the verge of starting a WTB thread with a couple of loose end bits and bobs on it. One of the things that I'm most annoyed that I don't have right now is the master cylinder bail...coincidentally another piece of bent wire.

You are seeking GM 3874661, and only one is required per the parts book:

The Parts Place sells a repro, which other than the plating looks like the one on my 1970 Blazer.

Do you have a closeup of how you routed your hard fuel line around the AC compressor?

Glad you're enjoying it. It is a lot of fun (mostly). She does look blue in the picture...but she's happy as a clam in person.

Hope this helps. The fuel line is an InLine Tube reproduction. To my eye it's not a dead nuts copy of factory (bends wise). In fact I've stashed a few originals, thinking I'd try and get them to copy it or try it myself or even refinish an original. In the end, after some consideration, the chase on that particular .5% detail did not seem worth it.
