Cool wiper problem

Every so often (probably half the time) I go to turn my wipers on and they don't move. I can hear a motor click and try to move them and also hear a motor when I push to WASH (no water comes out). If I leave the wipers in ON position they will come on after a few minutes and work fine. Seems to be a short or something. Anyone have similar problem in the past or know what is going on? Thx.

yes i have fix this problem several times. if your truck is a 95 or above there is a recall all you need is your vin number and go to a local dealer and they will swap your control mod. if not you can fix it your self. all you need is a soldering iron and some solder and just tuch up the connection on the pug in.

Are you sure it's a recall? I can't find it on any recall lists. Also my dealer said it "should be" but is not. Can you let me know where that info is?

My dealer said it was 95 and newer but I had to have the vin. My truck is a 91 so I fixed the controle module my self.

it is a recall, but it only covers certain years and certain proction runs. My dad's 97 was covered, My 99 Tahoe however was not, nor was my brother's 98 ext cab.

Thanks for the info. It's nice to know I won't have to pay for it. You can find all recalls for all makes and models at this helpful site I have used for years: http://www.alldata.com/recalls/index.html

Thanks again
