72 Cab mount bushings
72 C10 Longbed
My OEM rubber bushings had all but crumbled, sending the cab body line 3/4" below the bedline on the drivers side and maybe a 1/4" low on the passenger side. Ordered a kit that came with with everything but the bolts, poly kit however. Install went well, no real headaches to mention. All the parts matched and line up well. The cab came back up to match the rest of the truck but there is either more vibration at traveling speeds, or I'm paying more attention to things. I've read the poly mounts can transfer more vibration to the vehicle and the rubber mounts don't last. You guys just deal with the vibrations? Or is there another material between rubber and polyurethane that is used? |

Re: 72 Cab mount bushings
I installed the polyurethane mounts and experienced the same "noise".. I couldn't stand those things. after about 6 months, I replaced them with the rubber mounts from Classis Industries. They came with bolts and spacers... That was about 6 years ago and there is no deterioration in them..

Re: 72 Cab mount bushings
I may just order a rubber version of the kit so it'll be in the garage for the day I cant take these, lol. Going to give them a fair shake and retorque after 100 miles and see if maybe they are too tight or need some breaking in.
Thank you for the reply! |

Re: 72 Cab mount bushings
I've always heard rubber is the way to go. What you're describing is probably why. ClassicHeartBeat sells a real good kit.
