Steering wheel Crack filler
Hello everyone.
I have six 1969-1972 black steering wheels with cracks in them. I would like fill the cracks, buff the entire wheel and try to make them usable and look respectable. My question is, has anyone here found a good product to use for the filler ?? Epoxy or JB weld is all I can think of. Thanks for any advice I can get.

Re: Steering wheel Crack filler
Thank you for the reply. I kind of thought JB weld would be near the top of products list.

Re: Steering wheel Crack filler
I like both but it seems you get more PC-7 for less. Both get very hard when cured 24 hours.

Re: Steering wheel Crack filler
I'm going to give this a try as well. Was going to use an Oatey fix-it stick, they seem easy to work with and set up well. More like a putty, I think.

Re: Steering wheel Crack filler
I used Plasti-Fix for my deluxe wheel and had good results. It is very easy to work with and allows for slowly building up cracks without having excessive material removal. Their DiY video was also very helpful.

Re: Steering wheel Crack filler
Another vote for PC-7. Used it for a repair on my '71 Chevelle and very pleased with the results. Used it again to repair/restore a '59 Impala steering wheel for my '57 Chevy two door sedan and again, very pleased with the results. Great working time, dries hard and can be both sanded and filed.

Re: Steering wheel Crack filler
I used JB Weld. It set up pretty quickly and as it got putty like I could move into the cracks rather easily.
