Do these codes on the FW mean anything?
My truck has these numbers and codes written on the firewall. Do they mean anything or was this someone trying to mimic or reproduce the factory mfg codes used in mfg.

L47 is your engine- 400 CI
M49 is your trans- 400 THM, I'm sure J70 is power brakes, which were an option on 1/2T trucks CE10934, see the chart These were aids for the people on the assembly line for picking the components.

Is your truck a St. Louis build? I’d bet it is. They were famous for tatting up the firewall with assembly/option codes.

My St. Louis built 1970 Blazer had all sorts of tats on it's firewall. I replicated these during the resto.
