Battery plug?
Got a new battery and this plug thing was carefully placed under the negative post protector.
Already tossed it in the trash but I can dig it back out if need be. Anybody know what it's for? |

I considered that possibility but this battery doesn't come with side posts.
Maybe somebody mistakenly added it because one would think that the positive post would be the one to be protected with a red plug but none was included. I just tossed it and was having second thoughts about that idea. Haven't even used the battery while driving yet so now would be the time to find out if I needed it. |

No scale in the image of the "plug" so don't know how big it is. But if it was under the post protector, it must be small. Check around the edges of the battery case for some place to plug that thing in. I think your battery has a vent and this is a nipple for vent hose. Total wild guess though. -Kevin

Not sure about that plug thing but that style positive cable clamp is questionable.

group 24F is a common Japanese car battery, same battery in Mrs. Bee's lexus wagon
batteries installed inside the passenger compartment have to be vented outside the plug is to cover the vent hole opposite the side the vent tube is installed for your installation in the engine compartment you can disregard the plug
