88-95 alternator type?
Is the alternator on the 88-95 half tons a CS 130 or a CS 144, and are they the same case?

Re: 88-95 alternator type?
Between 1988 and 1995 there are many different alternators on these trucks. It depends on the equipment package / how many accessories the vehicle has as to which alternator is used on it. They are not al the same size and some are mounted differently.
Use the RPO code in the glove box to identify which alternator it has.

I'm confused on this as well. The RPO code tells you the amperage of the alternator but does not tell you the model of the alternator. I have a 1991 Suburban V1500 with a 5.7 TBI engine. I have the RPO code of K60 (100 amp) but is it the CS130 or CS144....????

Re: 88-95 alternator type?
With some minor modification, either one will fit.

Re: 88-95 alternator type?
To mount the CS144 in the CS130 mount you need the bracket that cradles the CS144 alt in the CS130 mounting space. I have this on my '89.

Re: 88-95 alternator type?
Anyone have a picture of said mount? Is this something I can fabricate or purchase?
