1975 C10 Vent Window Rebuild

Morning

got a friend that has a 1975 C10, asked if i could rebuild the vent windows

I Rebuilt the vent windows on my 1972 C10
Got the Corvette Rivet Tool and Some glass tape
He is going to buy the rivet kit and the Rubber pieces
I used Precision brand on mine, any differences for the 73 thru 87 C10's
is there a more preferred brand by most

Are there any differences that im going to run into or is it pretty much the same
probably wont start on it for a couple weeks, just trying to get ready

Thank's for any Help

Re: 1975 C10 Vent Window Rebuild

If your friend knows the history of the truck,
He will possible know if the Vent windows are original to the truck.

It would be a good idea to make sure both are the same type (One piece seal or Two piece seal).
And that one possibly did not get swapped out thru the life of the truck.
(Early vent or later vent window)
Also check the glass thickness so that the correct (Set) tape is ordered.

Hope this helps.

Re: 1975 C10 Vent Window Rebuild

I prefer the Precision seals and used them for my CUCV when I rebuilt my wing windows. There are 3 variations from 73-91, so be sure to verify the wing windows are original to the truck and which seals you need before ordering.

If you want to support a small business, you can buy Precision seals from Mr A's. Jon is a great guy to deal with and stocks everything Precision offers for the Squarebodies.
