Rattle can reasonable color match for '66 C10 Ivory (Off-White) ?
I did a little searching and could not find this in the forum.
Has anyone found a rattle can reasonable color match for '66 C10 Ivory (Off-White) ? Perhaps something in Rustoleum or Krylon that could be used for a cheap touchup ($5 to $6 per can) as opposed to buying custom aerosol cans?

Have a look at "Canvas White" Rustoleum.

I was also looking for the same thing. I found at the orange big box store what I think will work for me. I am going to use Glidden Max Flex spray paint. It is a paint and primer in one. The color is called "In the Buff". The only thing I don't like is I could only find it in satin. I wanted it in Gloss, but I will use a Spray Max Clear Glamour 3680061 over the top of it.
I have used the Glidden Spray before in a different color and it sprays really good, has a fan type pattern and dries in about 5 minutes. Some spray paint just doesn't come out of the can very well. Not the case with this stuff. Check out AC Designs Garage on YouTube. He is doing some good spray paint "tests" on some C10 parts. He is a pro painter but is experimenting with spray paint and clear coats. He is painting the parts and clearing them and letting them sit in his yard exposed to the elements to see what the results are over time Pretty impressive what he has done so far. |

Rustoleum Heirloom White satin is my go-to. Sometimes hard to find so buy a few cans when you come across it.

The correct way to do aerosol Ivory / Off White is to pay any PPG dealer or automotive paint mixer like Oreilleys Auto Parts to mix it using the correct Dupont and PPG code but put it in a spray can. Lotta people don't know you can even do that. Ivory and Off White share the same code, and will come up as Cameo White actually the way the code is displayed in the PPG stores' system today. The PPG code is 8290 and Dupont is 93-94774
I also have the mixing formula for use at O'Reilleys which is derived from or cross referenced by the PPG code, but because that paint is Nason brand, it may differ from the PPG dealers code. So if you are for sure going to use O'Reilleys instead of a true PPG automotive paint dealer, let me know |
