dipstick
Do they make a dipstick that sticks out further so its easier to reach? I'm short and need to get a step stool to check my oil.

Re: dipstick
later model 250 6 cylinder from a c10 puts it closer to inner fender and about same height as valve cover. Probably have to remark the end for the correct oil level
Some universal dipstick and tube kits use braided line for the tube, if you could find one the right OD for block and long enough you could mount to the inner fender. Look on speedway |

Re: dipstick
a lot of newer engines and transmissions in large machinery use a length of flexible stainless cable, with a flat bar welded to the end for the level check part and the appropriate end to fit over the modified dipstick tube on the other, to fit engines in machinery where the stock dipstick tube would not be accessible. maybe you could make up your own dipstick and tube. start out with the vehicle parked or put on blocks so it is level and have the oil level topped up to show full on the stock dipstick. then remove the stock dipstick and tube and either add onto that tube or make up your own tube to fit into the stock location like the old one did. when you get the tube where you want it, and brackets built to hold it firmly in place, then make up the inner part so that when inserted into the new tube it shows full like the old one did.maybe you could use a short length of a transmission dipstick tube and neck it down to fit your homemade tube, then you could use the longer trans dipstick with the "lock" on the end that would keep it stuck in the tube and also make it easier to grab.

Re: dipstick
Look at dip sticks at your local boat dealer. With the engine down in the hull they need a longer dip stick. (And not the one at the helm !! LOL)
