do i have any legal options?

recently i bought some parts from a guy on a S-10 board. i sent a postal money order and he was suppost to ship the parts when he got it. i pm`ed him a few times and he finally replied that they were going to be sent "in the morning". i have pm`ed him asking for a tracking number but he does not reply back. since then i have seen a few other people on the same board have had bad deals with him. he has sold a set of speakers and sent a different brand than he sold and tried to sell the same parts to a few diferent people. i`m really starting to think i got screwed. since i used a postal money order, is there anything the post office can do? i would track him down myself but he lives in kentuky and i`m in california. thanks.

I always use postal MOs because as I understand it, you can go to the postal inspectors. Try the USPS.com site and click on the postal inspector link.

There is a lot they can do about money order fraud. If he doesnt cooperate they will begin with halting delivery of his mail.

I also heard about the halting of his mail. I know I wouldn't want a Federal Postal Inspector on my @ss for anything, there are 10 year and/or $10,000 fines for interstate postal fraud.

that is why i only use postal money orders. i finally heard from him and he gave me a legit tracking number but it doesn`t give a destination or delivery date. i`ll have to wait and see i guess.
