Hi beams work low beams don't
I am trying to figure out why my LED low beams are not working. This is what I know:
-Dimmer switch does read 12v on both hi and low legs -No voltage at headlight connector for the low beams. 12v on the high side leg -Using a 28 circuit Painless Wiring Harness Does anyone have an idea if there is a connector between the dimmer and headlight connector? Besides the fuse block. -Tail lights do not come on when parking or headlights activated (But I think that might be a separate issue) -Front parking lights come on -Turn signals work properly

With a wiring harness something to look for first is the terminal may not be fully seated into the plastic connector, so when the connector is attached to the device that terminal doen't make contact. Examine carefully. You can usually follow the wires by color. Wire for the headlights would not normally go through the fuse block, it would go through a firewall connector. But I don't know about painless. If you can't figure it out, it will be time to post pictures.

I'm not familiar with your wire kit but if the headlamps use relays I would start there.

Wiggle the connection down on the floor dimmer switch. This had me chasing gremlins 'til I figured it out. Wiggling made the connection and got the lights working. I have since cleaned the connections with no further problems.
Seems easy to start there. Only a few moments. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. Chased the wire issue down to either the wire from the dimmer switch to firewall connection block or the firewall connection itself.
Tomorrow I will be checking those two items out. My belief is that the issue is the connection in the firewall connection block. hopefully it is an easy fix.

Unlike incandescant bulbs like the OEM T3, LEDs are Diodes with a polarity. If the wires got crossed in install, they won't work where T3s would.
Imported lights can also be FDs. On a normal '67 the Parking Lights come On with the first click of the Head Light Switch, and go Off with the 2nd click, as the Headlights come on. For Model Year 1968, the Federat DOT mandated that both would come on with the 2nd position ever after.

Thanks everyone, I finally got it figured out the issue. It turns out the male end terminal in the fuse box is bad. Not sure if it is broken or corroded but at least I know what the issue is.

Those male pins are easy to fix. First make sure it's seated. Push wire side in. If the catch on pin did not seat the pin will push out when trying to seat the firewall connector. Or if you need to remove a seated pin, a needle nose pliers will work to remove. Pinch the sides of pin in and the pin will slide out towards the wire side. Repair as needed. Side pin in and you will feel or hear a click. Pin is in place and will not push out when you seat the connector.

Well, my mystery has been solved. After I got the fuse block disconnected from the firewall I rechecked for continuity and didn't get it. So, I traced the TAN low beam fuse wire back and found that it went to the ignition switch. When I double checked the TAN wire connected to the dimmer that one was supposed to go the ignition. The previous owner had got the two TAN wires mixed up. A bit frustrating but understandable. Just glad I finally got it figured out. Now I just need to get the wires out of the connectors.
