I have the same truck ('98 Chevy Ext cab 4X4) and it has the SAME problems. I even had the rear-end replaced as well because of excessive whinning, that problem is fixed. I do however have the same delay in my transmission usually accompanied with a clunk.

I love chevy's but I am starting to think this year chevy was built by a bunch of drunks. There are ALOT of problems...

I will be watching the reply's in hope of a simple solution, yeah right....

Best of luck!

Elmer

Punctuation is a good thing.

The rear-end doesn't have anything to do with the way the transmission shifts.
