Re: Amd fenders and inner fenders???
I bought some fenders from LMC and was not impressed, but I've heard all aftermarket aren't very good. There was a sticker on the fender with a part number and it was the same as AMD. So I'm assuming all or most are made by the same manufacturer. It is good enough for a driver but for my other truck I would like a better fit.

Re: Amd fenders and inner fenders???
I haven't bolted them on a truck yet but where the 2 pieces meet on the front there is a huge gap. I'll probably put some panel bond and pull it together with vise grips

As far as quality and fit, it really depends on your standards. Original parts will always look and fit better. I was focused on having zero rust in my parts so I started with new parts and made them fit. Unfortunately no pics, it’s apart right now for paint.

Re: Amd fenders and inner fenders???
I took a decent used fender off a nice low mile truck , 32,000 mile original paint truck. Put the AMD fender up to it without changing ANYTHING else. Fit nice by the door and rocker but was almost an inch shorter in overall length up front. Its usually the front area that the contours are off and where the problems are. I see many guys cutting and changing the shape to fit their trucks grille surround panel. Personally , I'm using the AMD fender as a patch panel to fix my original fenders and the brace. The lower rear patch panels they sell are not the correct contours but the full fender rear section looks good .

Re: Amd fenders and inner fenders???
Put some of the aftermarket fenders on a clients truck, not sure of brand, were brought to me already painted…fit suckedMAJOR work to make them acceptable.
Photo won’t upload or you could see the work done….bottom line…find some original material and make it yourself…. |

Re: Amd fenders and inner fenders???
I was told by a high end truck builder that he drills out the spot welds on the aftermarket inner fender hood spring bracket before he fits them. Then after fitment rewelds the hood spring bracket.

Re: Amd fenders and inner fenders???
Personally, I think it comes down to whether you want to repair rust or spend your time on fitment. I went aftermarket and had a few hours in cutting and welding to get the fitment right...but had no rust to remove/treat.
