1968 swb/fleet k10
Hey All,
I have searched through old threads to try and answer all my questions but can't find everything. In 1968 the two tone was off-white(Ivory) cab/pillars with the off-white grill area? Was a two tone option available to have a off white cab only? grill area same as body? The only one in 68 with the additional white below the trim on the side was the Anniversary model? No other models came stock in 68 with the off white below the trim? If the truck came with the side chrome trim did it also come with the chrome trim on the tailgate? The truck I am currently building, the idiot prior painted black over the SPID so I cant see any of it. I am leaning towards off white cab, grill area with the side trim, front grill trim and tailgate. Right now its back and forth between blue or green with the two tone. Although I realize I can paint and do the truck however, I want it to have the options that 1968 K10 could of had...It will have a 4" lift with ralley wheels to give the look I am after though. Thanks |

With care, and the right product, you can probably remove the black paint from the SPID

Hard to go wrong with green! I'm pretty sure this a members truck.
Those K models need painted bumpers, though!

Only the 50th anniversary models got the white below the chrome trim. I think chrome trim on the sides included chrome trim on the fleetside tailgate.

My base ‘68 SWB C10 is LT YELLOW/OFF WHITE. It has no side or tailgate trim. For reference the top, A pillars and grille are all off white…as are the bumpers. This truck is 100% original paint.

Since you probably have an Oshawa truck - and it sounds like you are interested in originality - I would strongly suggest you get the build sheet from Vintage Vehicles. I did it for all of my trucks, it is really interesting.
