Re: Back hatch/tailgate lock
Anyone make a billet button for the back hatch? I would like to just remove the key hole and have button that runs off a remote to unlock just the back hatch...Kinda like newer vehicles. Unlock drivers door with one button hit it twice and the whole car unlocks. or a seperate button for just the trunk release.
Thanks Chris I hope I was clear

Re: Back hatch/tailgate lock
My '72 Suburban's tailgate lock had been knocked inside the tailgate, presumably because the previous owner couldn't unlock it (see below) when I bought it. I got a junkyard lock mechanism, had a key made, and discovered that it, too wouldn't unlock. I have to remove an access panel and insert a tool to unlock it. Since this is the second "failure" I'm guessing that this is a common problem: maybe a spring is missing/broken? I can't find a picture clear enough to tell. Any help?
