Intermitent wiper always on

Hi all,

I have a 90 burb 5.7 r1500 and the wipers are alwyas on. I had to disconnect the wiper module to get it to stop.

I found a few on ebay and both I bought lasted for a day or 2 and then were always on.

What am i missing?

Moved your post to the correct area. These trucks had issues with wipers. Some was cold solder joints in wiper motor circuit board. It could also be in the column switch

I bought a 2003 Tahoe last year. Among the many electrical glitches this 300,000 mile beast has, the Brights go ON when I select Right on the Turn Signal Switch, and I have only Hyperspace out of 8 possible Windsheild Wiper speeds.
Both gripes are contained in the Cruise Control/Turn Signal/ Brights/ Windsheild Wiper selector. About a $75 part from RockAuto.

The wiper motor was replaced 5-6 years ago.

the column selector only rotates the switch in the column so I doubt it's that.

Any way to test the colunm switch and how bad is replacing the switch?

Oh darn, I forgot. 90 was still squarebody suburban and blazers. The few I had with intermittent wipers, I went back to regular switches because of the failure issue with those modules.

That's my thought. I was lucky and had some old extra (non intermittent) switches in the shop and used them for testing.
