Has this been modified?

I have a a 72 with stock A/C. I purchased a vintage air control panel 473080 and it has wide bolt holes to mount it. Mine has bolt holes closer together. I did find a bracket that I thought would solve the problem but this seems to bolt directly to the dash. I’m wondering is my dash modified? I would not think so since they do reproduce this bracket. Maybe this controller is for a non ac truck?

Re: Has this been modified?

I just took a walk out to my 70 with AC and those holes are right at 7" apart. I'll edit to add a couple of pictures.

Re: Has this been modified?

Maybe I have the bracket backwards? 7” bolts to the dash. I don’t understand why my holes are different.

Re: Has this been modified?

I have a 72 non A/C truck. Converted to stock type A/C and the stock A/C controller bolted right in place. What does the original controller/mounting piece you took out look like?

Re: Has this been modified?

It’s Been about 5 years since I removed it and I can’t find it. The truck is originally ac though. Do you have 5” holes or 7”?

Re: Has this been modified?

Someone must have modified it before I bought it. I guess I’ll have to fix it.
