Transmission tunnel dimensions

Good Afternoon

Previous owner hacked up the transmission tunnel opening

Guessing was going automatic , ill be using a 700R4

1965 Chevy C10

guessing most are the same, i can probably guess from whats left but a solid measurement would be nice

seems like it would be easier to start with an original bolt in cover or one of these

Thats got me thinking on my c60. It's got a flat floor

ive got a low hump cover, but with the 700 r4 transmission, i might go with a high hump or make my own, im just trying to get a front to back and side to side measurement to get close
again i can guess, im sure it would be close, but the previous owner did hack this one up

it was brazed in, been years since i even saw something brazed in, lol

Still Hoping someone has a measurement for the transmission tunnel opening, appreciate the replies but not looking for a tunnel yet,pretty sure ive got a high hump tunnel anyway, need the opening measurement first

Do you want the inside opening measurements. Or the outside flange measurements ?

Inside opening measurement, front to back, and side to side, i know i can get close and make it work but id like to know a basic opening

pretty sure the rear ,closer to seat metal is untouched, so i can measure off the center of that point to the front and get a close side to side measurement the same way, guessing its a basic square design

Are you still in need of this? My truck was hacked up too, but I have the stock tunnel cover that I’ll bolt back on, and the holes in the floor that correspond to the cover…..so I can get you “close”.

ive kinda squared the front of the tunnel, last couple days, ive been thinking how to make one, but after looking at it, couple pieces of cardboard for a template, leave about 1/12 of material around it and little bit of seam sealer and rivnuts and bolt it down
probably look more square than a factory, but wont bother me

also how did you lay your cab down, ive got mine on a dolly, dimensions from paulkc10 i believe, Thank You
But i need to lay the cab on its back when im totally done with the Floor

I’ll do a bunch of photos and measurements later today. To get the cab on its back, I pulled the doors off and had it sitting on a rolling dolly.

I had another dolly….ratchet-strapped the two together so one wouldn’t kick the other out of the way as the cab flipped….and a few buddies just tipped it from one dolly to the other.

I laid down some cardboard layers, then a thick Ergonomic mat you’d see in a manufacturing area for things to cushion a bit.

To tip it back. I think I’ll try by hand using an engine crane hooked to a chain attached to a couple rigged mounting areas (I think where the inner fender attaches to the firewall)

The cart is narrow enough to avoid crunching in the cab corners as it flips.

Here are some photos of the high hump and floor. The photos are tough to get accurate and are somewhat deceiving in measurement.

Honestly…let me know exactly what you’re after - feature to feature like “mounting hole to mounting hole” or “rib to rib” on the cab and I’ll measure them for you with a tape
