Rear differential
Hi. My son has a 1997 1500 4wd suburban. The rear diff is shot. I'm wondering if anyone knows what differentials will fit, from what other years? I think pickup diffs are a bit different, don't have sway bar mounts, etc. Does anyone know if one from a 2000 pickup would swap in?

Re: Rear differential
Probably anything from a 1991 to 97 suburban truck or tahoe should bolt right in. The 2000 truck would be different as they had rear disk brakes. Not sure if the 99 and up would go in (because of brakes & ?) without a bunch of work.

Re: Rear differential
Taggin for answers. I have a 95 2wd and picked up a 6 lug 3.73 rear out of a 97ish tahoe that I plan to swap in at some point. I was hoping it would be a direct swap but havent' looked closely to compare them. I got the 6 lug super cheap so didn't think too much about it.
