yes door latches should probably have been done before paint but budget was getting tight. has anyone done altman/bearclaw latches after paint was done?

Good thing I went and looked rather than just assume.

For TF one kit has the full cover panel that you would have to paint to match this image showing the cover panel in blue over the white original panel

Or they have a different kit that is a lot less money if you have custom door panels on the doors https://triquemfg.com/products/altma...59-chevy-truck

I'd say that with the metal inserts it comes down to being able match the paint. You still have to match paint with the one with the full door panel but that is a lot less paint and less visible

Re: altman door lartches after paint job?

There is some trimming of the door structure behind the removable door panel skin, so once you cut it there is no going back. No problem for a good painter to match paint color for your new panels, but they will require paint whether you go with the long or short version. I originally bought the long version and then swapped to the short style because I am covering the whole door with leather. The latches are great!

Be sure to check out the power door locks from Trique. They work great and simple install.

one more thing on the power door lock kit is that it comes with a awesome template for cutting your doors for the Altman Latch. No measuring. Here is the thread I posted a while back on them.
