Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

That's good to read! It's always nice when the initial miles are mostly trouble free & easy fixes.

If your truck was any more bad-assed, it would take another truck to carry the extra in....(probably a 1-ton)!

Nice Work.

Will you make it to the C10 Nationals at Nashville Superspeedway?

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)

Heres the update I was hoping Id post! The truck got loaded up on my buddies trailer he let me borrow and we headed for Nashville for the Triple Crown!

Drove straight through the night Wednesday night and only ran into one issue, the bed mount I made for the front of the bed snapped. Its my fault, I left it just tacked in place so all the crappy roads just eventually killed it around the VA boarder.

Thankful for friends in the C10 club, MD's Kyle Fannin got me in contact with Travis of SimpleC10 and got me a 10am slot in his driveway to throw some tacks back on the brackets so the bed would stay on while I drive
I got out of the truck at a truck stop around 2AM and noticed the bed was like 4 inches too low in one corner, digging into the cab. Luckily the bracket stayed on the trailer floor so I just ratchet strapped it all into place (honestly stronger than the mount I made ) but we got it all fixed!

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)

Now I am back home, but it wasnt without a fight!

Leaving Nashville, I went to go start the truck at the hotel and it was dead. No cranking power. Tracked it down to a couple of loose ground and power wires, probably loose from heat cycles without me retorquing due to my cramped schedule to get the truck done. Well, all the diagnosing and key on key off cycles, must have killed the coil driver. Once I got power back, the driver gave no spark. Luckily, the trailer had a wench so we just pulled it up. All I truly needed was power to the Accuair so I could air up the system.

Got home, replaced the driver - all good.

So next for the truck is the bed floor. Going to do some old wood I found in my great grandfathers stash of wood he cut some time between the 40s-60s from what my uncle says. Not sure on if Ill do the stainless strips, or leave it without, but my plan is to do a floor that is vaulted so I can work on the rear of the truck if it loses all power and air for whatever reason (like it did in Nashville...) and have some gas assist struts so it'll stay open during shows and such without a worry.

Re: My 1967 Build (Finally)

Some small stuff done to the bed, really just deciding on how I want to tackle this floor conversion. Straight runs were added to tie the front to the rear better, added some 45s to give some rigidity, and added some decorative panels since Ill be at some shows, so I wanted it to look a bit more intentional.
