TCS Removal
I’ve read that removing the TCS will have no effect on the proper running on the engine. I plan on removing mine. I believe they (Based on what I read) that its using vacuum and voltage. Looking at mine, the hose looks like it’s not hooked to anything other than itself. Maybe mine was messed with by the PO.
I’m more specifically concerned about the black thing it’s mounted to. Do I remove that too, or just the cylinder and put the wiring to the side? I also read that there is a switched 12v wire going to it, so I’ll stick that to the side for a HEI upgrade later. Thanks. |

IF there's a vacuum hose straight to the vac advance can, TCS is out of the loop.
No idea what that black thing is though ICYGAS, here's a wiring screenshot. The notes in red are mine, safest to ignore those ;-)

I took off the canister, I noticed there was no hose attached to back. The wiring looked like it was missing a 3rd wire. I left the EGR on the manifold. I’ll save the stuff. I’ll see how she runs. She already isn’t running great, I gotta rebuild the carb.

There's a canister in the vacuum advance mechanism, which is the "can" i referred to. TCS solenoid is also can shaped, so I may have made that confusing ;-)
Top left pic seems to show a vac line to the carb, so TCS wasn't going to do anything even if it were wired up An article I had bookmarked: https://www.hotrod.com/articles/ever...gnition-timing
