Need help with paint code...

My two tone blue and white '72 is listed on the options sheet in the glove box as being "White with Dark Blue" and an options code of 159210.

Can anyone give me the paint code for the "Dark Blue"? I'm trying to get a small amount mixed up so I can spray a firewall heater box closeout panel and a few other small bits.

Thanks for the help,
Greg

Re: Need help with paint code...

^ Looks great!

I am assuming you are looking for the modern day paint formula and not the original GM code? If so you might have better luck in the pickup section.

Another option would to be finding a paint supplier or a body shop with a paint scanner. They can then scan the paint (On the firewall for the best match) and mix up some paint.

Have them check the color against the truck before leaving. A better paint supplier can sell it in rattle cans for easy application down the road.

Good to hear your still plugging away on your Burban.

Re: Need help with paint code...

Good call....I may pull the glovebox door off and check with the local collision shops. Dont need a perfect match as it's just a few block off plates on the firewall.

Yea, I'll have an update soon....doing a little updating in prep for hopefully swapping to a TR4050 manual gearbox and possibly going from the throttle body injection to multi port....we'll see.

Re: Need help with paint code...

Thanks, I did look through that thread. The thing that always throws me off....and I do have a high res copy of the 1972 color chart, is that my truck looks far closer to medium blue and white than it does to dark blue....even the interior parts not exposed to the sun.

Hit me up Greg. My neighbor is a pro body man and he can get the glovebox scanned and some paint mixed. He’s one of the C3 cronies.
