Re: Project: '72 Family Hauler

Jason, thanks for that. I also feel the 19gal isn't much. That is what my Boyd tank is. This burb will be going on some long trips so I might as well go bigger on capacity. $163 is a good price too!

I'm happy with the way it worked out. For the $, I feel like this was the best path to take for my project. I'll be happier when I know I have plenty of fuel pressure and get to hear this ol girl run again. It's been sitting around for far too long.

Re: Project: '72 Family Hauler

I just looked back and you started this thread 8 years ago and had pics of your little kiddos. Are they still in to the Family Hauler?

They love the burb and ask to take it whenever we’re going out together! My plan from 8 years ago worked out!

Bringing it up to speed. After the fuel tank install, I bought a box of 90s and some straights and worked up an exhaust system. It’s changed a little along the way but this is how it started.

Followed that with a Retrosound stereo and new kick panels, some 6x9 boxes under the middle seat, and a powered 10” sub under the newly lowered front seat. Also put in the vintage air to try to cool this bus down a bit.

Are the seats no longer adjustable with the lowering mounts?

I apologize for the delay in response. You are correct, the seat is no longer adjustable with the new lowering brackets.

Very nice. How long have you had that stereo? I'm curious how long they last for. The boss I put in my truck sure didn't live long enough.

It’s probably 3 years old at this point. It still sounds great, but it hasn’t seen a whole lot of road time in the last 3 years. I’ve been struggling with a highway speed vibration/shimmy that I haven’t been able to diagnose, so the burb has been limited to trips around town and hasn’t seen the highway yet.
