Crankin stereo in Panel
Working on interior of truck some since low cash for paint and body. Doing some low cost work. Laying out wiring for stuff like lights, amp and speakers.
My thinking is two set of speakers in rear one up and back with another set behind seat area lower. A set in kick panel and small in dash. Amp mounted on right side in side wall pocket behind right seat. Not a acoustics engineer by any means . Hoping someone can give suggestions as to perfect layout. A;; areas will have sound deadening on all metal panels. Upholstered thru out. Not looking for the boom boom metal vibrating crap you hear when pumping gas because idiot too stupid to shut jungle crap off and Panel trucks have lot of metal to vibrate and heading that off. In case matters music taste runs lots of 60's , 70's and 80' rock and some of the more southern rock country stuff. Most strong bass and guitars. When wife is in truck will be mild. If traveling and long day the rock will be cranking loud. My drugs of choice loud rock and high MPH.LOL Suggestions on layout and speakers of choice.

Re: Crankin stereo in Panel
The off the shelf kick panels will offer no mid bass due to most speakers being made for infinite baffle installations such as doors. If you just want sound it does not matter.

I am not after just sound. Looking for clear and loud. I can get sound from beating on tin roof but sound like rap crap then. My main concern with this metal box is not to have rattle sound. That why sound deadening all of cab and most of the sidewalls especially ones that have speaker mounted in bay. I am old fart from 70's and 80's and that type of rock I play along with southern rock sounding country Like Hank jr and few others. Thanks for advise and articles where helpful.

Re: Crankin stereo in Panel
I did find out today tat if mounting up higher in rear of panel will need spacers. Depth of wall has magnet almost against outer sheet metal. It is either spacer or move lower, going with lower, More of compromise between look and function.
